The BBC Good Food show is one of the culinary world's most exciting and prestigious events. Bringing together a diverse array of celebrities, chefs, product suppliers and industry professionals for a week-long celebration of food, the exhibition gives Falcon an exciting chance to share our innovative selection of cooking and baking products.
Representatives from Falcon have maintained a presence at the BBC Good Food Show for the past 21 years. During this time, we have continued to forge links with a number of high-profile personalities and organisations, as well as bringing our much-loved collection to the public. Home baking has enjoyed a resurgence in popularity and providing all of the labour-saving products and devices that enable this is Falcon's speciality.
To match the current popularity of home baking, an array of celebrity chefs have now become household names. Bringing some of these shows to life with live demonstrations and competitions were popular TV personalities Greg Wallace and John Torrode, celebrity judges on the BBC shows 'Masterchef' and its spin-off 'Celebrity Masterchef'. After judging a cooking competition, they made way for James Martin and The Hairy Bikers who enthralled the captive audience by cooking tasty recipes live on stage while giving lots of hints and tips on a variety of cooking methods and styles. Following this exciting display were Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry who gave an informative 'Great British Bake-Off' masterclass, accompanied by John Whaite, winner of this year's Great British Bake-Off competition.
The World Cheese Awards also took place at this memorable culinary event. The largest competition of this kind in the world, the World Cheese Awards has been established for over 20 years, three of which have been spent at the BBC Good Food Show. More than 200 expert tasters judged the thousands of entries which were also featured in a variety of tasting sessions open to the public, matching cheese with different beers.
The Bake-O-Glide stand attracted, as always, a great deal of interest. Our tried and trusted favourites such as the Bake-O-Glide range of products proved as popular as ever, while our new range of funky La Cuisine cake carriers sold out so quickly that emergency supplies had to be brought in. Another highly-popular range was the We Love Pasta selection, reflecting the current trend for creating delicious, healthy pasta at home.
Falcon would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in making the BBC Good Food Show a successful event and we eagerly anticipate attending the show again in 2013.
