Bake-O-Glide® Induction Hob Protector - Original

The Bake-O-Glide® Original Induction Hob Protector is a flexible, reusable mat that helps protect glass induction hobs from scratches, scuffs and moving cookware while you cook.

Its silicone-coated open mesh allows compatible induction cookware to heat normally and can be carefully trimmed for a closer fit. Choose from three sizes covering two-zone, four-zone and larger induction hobs.

Heat resistant to 250°C. For induction hobs only.

Original vs Edged vs Circles vs Solid

All four protectors are built on the same heat-resistant silicone coated fabric. The difference comes down to the edges and the surface, how much spill protection you want on top of everyday scratch protection, and how much of the hob you want covered.

Which Model Suits Your Hob?

• If you want spills kept off the glass and a surface that wipes clean, choose the Solid. It cannot be trimmed and there is no size between 780mm and 1069mm.
• If you want everyday scratch protection that you can trim to fit, choose the Original.
• If your hob is 800, 900 or 920mm wide, is a BORA model, or you want sealed edges beneath heavy cookware, choose the Edged.
• If you cook on only one or two zones and want to leave the controls and the rest of the hob clear, choose the Circles. Areas outside the circles are not protected.

How to Use

Place the Bake-O-Glide® Induction Hob Protector – Original directly onto an induction hob only. This protector is designed to be used while cooking on induction hobs and allows heat to transfer safely while helping to protect the glass surface beneath.

Flexible and Cut to Fit Design

The Original can be trimmed to size if required, which makes it a good fit for unusual hob layouts or tight kitchen spaces. If trimming is needed, use sharp scissors and cut carefully; as with any cut fabric edge, trimming can increase the chance of fraying over time.

It gives everyday protection against scratches, scuffs and pan movement while maintaining the same low-profile design and 250°C heat resistance as the rest of the range.

Because the edges are left open rather than sealed, this version can be trimmed to fit your hob exactly, rather than being limited to the fixed pre-cut sizes of the Edged and Solid versions.

Cleaning & Care

The Original is quick to keep clean. Because it's a lightweight, flexible mesh, there are three simple ways to keep it looking good:

• Everyday wipe: Shake off crumbs or residue, then wipe with warm water, mild washing-up liquid and a soft cloth or sponge.
• Full clean: Remove the protector, rinse under warm water and clean with mild washing-up liquid. Rinse thoroughly and dry before returning it to the hob.
• Deep clean: Soak with a dishwasher tablet in boiling water for 15 to 20 minutes, then rinse thoroughly and air dry.

Allow the hob and protector to cool completely before cleaning.

For longest life, hand wash rather than using a dishwasher, and store the mat rolled or flat.
