How to use
Place the Bake-O-Glide® Induction Hob Protector – Original directly onto a cool induction hob only.
This protector is designed to be used while cooking on induction hobs and allows heat to transfer safely while helping to protect the glass surface beneath.

Flexible and cut to fit design
The Original version can be trimmed to size if required, making it ideal for different hob layouts and kitchen setups. Its flexible design offers full hob coverage and fuss free everyday protection.
If trimming is needed, use sharp scissors and cut carefully. As with any cut fabric edge, trimming may slightly increase the chance of fraying over time.
Heat resistant up to 250°C and suitable for everyday home cooking.
Not suitable for non-induction hobs
This product must not be used on ceramic, gas, solid plate, or radiant hobs.
Using this protector on a non-induction hob is misuse and is not covered by warranty.
Cleaning
Shake off crumbs or residue, rinse under hot water, wipe clean, and dry. For tougher marks, a mild detergent or soap can be used. For longest life, we recommend hand washing rather than using a dishwasher.

- Do not use scrapers or harsh brushes.
- Keep away from open flames or heating elements.
- Trim gently with scissors if required for a custom fit.

Can I leave the hob protector on while cooking?
Yes, the Bake-O-Glide® Original Induction Hob Protector is designed to stay on your hob during cooking. It won't affect the induction cooking process or heat transfer. Heat resistant to 250°C, it provides reliable protection under all your cookware.
What is the difference between the Original and Edged protectors?
The Original version offers flexible, cut-to-fit convenience at a lower price point. It can be trimmed with scissors to match any hob size, making it perfect for custom fits. The Edged version features sealed silicone edges that prevent fraying and provide enhanced durability. Both offer the same heat resistance (250°C) and scratch protection.
Will this protector work on ceramic or gas hobs?
No, this protector is only suitable for induction hobs. Ceramic and gas hobs reach temperatures that exceed 250°C, which will cause the silicone coating to melt and the material to disintegrate. This can cause permanent damage to your hob surface. If your hob glows orange or red when heating, it is NOT an induction hob and this product is not compatible.
How do I clean my induction hob protector?
For everyday cleaning, simply rinse under hot water and wipe dry. For deeper cleaning: soak the protector with a dishwasher tablet in boiling water for 15-20 minutes, gently scrub with a soft brush, rinse thoroughly, and air dry. You can use both sides of the protector. Avoid harsh scrubbers and never put it in the dishwasher.
What size do I need for my hob?
We offer 3 sizes for the Original protector: 295 x 520mm (2-ring), 590 x 520mm (4-ring), and 780 x 520mm (5-6 ring). The Original version can be trimmed to size with sharp scissors for a perfect custom fit. Measure your hob surface and select the size closest to your cooking area. Why have white spots appeared on my protector?
White spots indicate the silicone coating has melted due to excessive heat (over 250°C), exposing the white glass fibres underneath. This is typically caused by a hot spot on your pan's base or a faulty thermal breaker in your hob. Stop using that particular pan or consult your hob manufacturer. This issue is not a defect in the protector but indicates cookware or hob problems.
Does the protector prevent scratches from cast iron cookware?
Yes, the Bake-O-Glide® Original Protector is specifically designed to protect your induction hob from scratches caused by heavy enamelled cast iron pots, casseroles and other rough-bottomed pots. The heat-resistant silicone coating creates a protective barrier between your cookware and the delicate glass surface, keeping your hob looking new even with daily use.
